Painting in Lake Claire
A neighborhood named for a street corner
Lake Claire comprises about 1,200 homes and sits entirely on the DeKalb County side of Atlanta, between Candler Park, Kirkwood, Decatur and Druid Hills. There was never a lake: the name came from the corner of Lakeshore Drive and Claire Drive.
Part of the neighborhood lies within the Candler Park Historic District on the National Register. Its older bungalows carry deep porches, tapered columns and original wood windows, which need repair and careful prep before paint.
We repair soft column bases and porch boards, reglaze windows that are worth keeping, and brush trim details by hand. Pre-1978 paint is handled lead-safe.
